Feb 1, 2020, Jon Jones Retires.
After a long career that included developing hundreds of routes in the Bow Valley and paving the path for generations of climbers to follow, Jon Jones has retired as President of TABVAR. Ian Greant, who has helped with communications and the website for over a decade will take over the role of President.

March 24, 2018 - MEC makes major donation
Since TABVAR's inception in 1994, MEC has continuously and generously supported TABVAR through cash donations and fixed hardware discounts.
This year in addition to the hardware discount they also made a very generous donation of $10,000. Big thanks MEC!

The Association of Bow Valley Rock Climbers (TABVAR) is a-not-for profit organization, funded by donations, whose purpose is to promote the responsible development of safe rock climbing areas serving the Calgary, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise climbing communities.
TABVAR provides funds for:
- Environmental projects such as erosion protection measures at the base of cliffs and trails.
- Repair and refurbishment of existing routes.
- Fixed anchors on routes.
Since its inception in 1993, TABVAR has raised and disbursed more than $85,000 plus over $15,000 in contributed materials.
